Essai historique et littéraire sur la médecine des Arabes.

Montpellier: Auguste Ricard, 1805.

The first European history of Arab or Islamic medicine. Amoreux was professor in the faculty of medicine in Montpellier (an Arabist medical center in the Renaissance), and also the librarian. He stated in the introduction that he was motivated to write this book because previous historians of medicine such as LeClerc did not cover this aspect of the history of medicine.
